What is Integrative Health & Wellness Coaching?
Coaching can effectively motivate and support you in healthy habit change using a structured partnership between the client and coach. A coach is like a “personal trainer” except the focus will be on your whole self. Brittany helps you develop and realize your optimal health vision through inquiry, personal discovery and accountability.

I work with the whole person. I listen to your concerns and ask powerful questions to help motivate you to make the changes you desire.
I spend time exploring what is most important to you in your health and allow you to choose your course of action.
I guide you through a process to maximize the possibility of your success.
You and I will work in partnership to identify any barriers to change and create strategies for moving forward toward your goals.
I support you in tracking your weekly progress and hold you accountable to your commitments.

What are appropriate topics for health coaching?
The coaching relationship is unique. The coach and the client form a partnership to better equip you to become the best version of you based on your own goals and values. Any concern that gets in the way of taking care of your optimal health is the perfect subject with which to begin coaching. Therefore, any topic you want to bring up that you think will contribute to your optimal health is an appropriate topic for Integrative Health Coaching.
In our sessions, we will use techniques based upon mind-body psychology and a whole person approach to healthcare with Duke Integrative Medicine’s Wheel of Health. We will explore the entire you and the ways each aspect of your life influences your overall health and wellness.
Duke's Wheel of Health illustrates the client-centered approach used in coaching. The whole YOU is at the core, and your mindful awareness connects you to all the various life categories that make up who you are.
Using my training in Integrative Health Coaching, I provide expertise in behavior change and personal growth. Through asking important, introspective questions, we'll discover together what is most important to you for your health, and how to elicit change. This means that you are the expert on yourself, and your role is to be open to discovery and honest with me and yourself for the best possible outcome.
A minimum of three months of coaching is generally recommended in order to experience the benefits of health coaching. Research shows us that in order to replace a behavior with a new beneficial one, it takes integrating the desired behavior into your life on a consistent basis.
